Rules and General Information

  • Entrants under 19 years of age MUST have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on their entry form.  Coaches or friends are not permitted to sign on parent’s behalf.
  • Safety is paramount.  Please consider how your actions affect the safety of others.  No smoking on the grounds.
  • Horses are not to be set loose in the lunge ring or left unattended on the show grounds
  • ALL riders MUST wear boots with proper heels and an ASTM approved helmet while mounted at all times
  • No schooling tack for competitors (e.g. boots, drop nosebands, draw reins, or martingales).  Exceptions are -
  • Crops under 30” long are permitted in all classes
  • Martingales are permitted in jumping and walk-trot classes
  • Rider and Owner MUST have 2017 HCBC and must show card or photocopy at first show they attend of each year
  • All horses on the grounds MUST be entered in the show.  For insurance reasons, if you wish to watch or “camp out” with your horse,
you must fill out an entry form, get a number, and pay office fee $5
  • Riders MUST be neatly dressed.  Show jackets are mandatory for all competitors,  braiding is optional.
  • Rider’s age for the whole year is their age as of Jan. 1st, 2017.
  • Coach must be present for rider to show or practice  over fences
  • Classes 1 through 9 – horse may enter a class more than once with a different rider
  • Maximum number of classes per day per horse/pony is 12, not including Tack and Turnout class.
  • The entry committee reserves the right to limit or refuse entries as well as split and combine classes
  • No oxers in 2’ classes.
  • HCBC Rules followed as a guideline, EC Drug Rules apply.
  • Horses that appear to be significantly lame or unsafe may be excused at the judge’s discretion.  Lame horses will be marked down.
  • Riders PLEASE clean up after yourselves and your horses.  The show grounds and parking lot MUST be left clean after each show. 
PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO HELP.  Pick up your own garbage. 
  • You don’t have to be a member, or ride an Appaloosa to enter

Novice Horsehorse has not won three 1st  in English Pleasure, Road Hack, or Working Hunter under saddle prior to Jan. 1st, 2017

Pony – 14.2hh and under, with a rider of any age

Open – class is open to all horses and riders
